Holy Moly

I came home this evening to a brand spanking new Christmas tree and a tub full of brand new ornaments and outfits for the baby boy.  How amazing!! Someone just went and bought all of this and left it on my porch! I am so excited to give this to our girl!

Here is a canvas I made for the MOPS ladies to give to Tana for her Birthday.
I just love making people cry ;)

Tis the season to be Thankful

This year I am in charge of the Mom's our MOPS group is sponsoring for Christmas.
I recieved their names and numbers today to call and see just what they needed and wanted.
The first girl I called said, without thought, that they desperately needed food.  Food? I was expecting her to say, oh it would be nice to have a stroller or a bouncy chair for my 8 day old baby. No. The only thing she wants is food.  I, then, panic because we aren't going to deliver anything until the middle of December.  She only has one gallon of milk to her name, what is she going to eat until we get there next month?!
The second girl starts to tear up when I ask what they really need.  Her 9 year old daughter has nothing to wear since her last growth spurt.  She also says that they could use any and all baby items because they have nothing for their 3 week old baby boy.  She also has a 2 year old.  I then find out that they don't actually have a home right now as they lost their apartment and are hoping to find something before Christmas.  They are staying with a friend, thankfully she has a friend to stay with for a few weeks.  I asked her if there was anything special that they would love to have.  She says the thing they really really want this year is a Christmas tree and ornaments to decorate it with.
I hung up the phone and messaged Latisha with tears in my eyes.  Both conversations just absolutely broke my heart.  Here, I am thinking I am not even going to have time to put up my tree because we are re-modeling our house and all this girl wants is a tree to call her own.  All I could do was pray and thank Jesus for all of the blessings he has given me.  Half the time I'm sure I don't deserve any of it.  I spent the rest of the day jsut saying "thank you. thank you. thank you"  Once I got ahold of myself I called Andrea to talk to her about it and it got me again.  I just know I'm going to have a hard time telling the entire MOPS group about it tomorrow.  I'd better take a box of kleenexes up front with me.  I just hope and pray that we can meet their needs and show them what God's everlasting love truly means.

Just Silly

I let Mindy pierce my nose.  For some reason I feel really silly about it.  What do you think?

Food Chain Friends

I found these in the new FAO Shwarz catalogue. They are nesting stuffed animals sized according to the food chain!!!! I really think this is THE coolest toy I have ever seen.

Operation Love Reunited

Since my mom is deployed, I often get emails from the family readiness group about military events, organizations and what nots.  This one really caught my eye.

Operation Love Reunited is a photography organization offering free photography sessions to deploying, deployed and reuniting military families.  Each family gets 2 free sessions, whether it be one before deployment with their military member, during deployment of homefront spouse and children, and a homecoming session or post-deployment session.  The photographers have agreed to send albums to deployed military members at no cost.  The photographers have to meet strict requirements to be accepted.

Their website, www.oplove.org, is designed to help families find photographers using the military member's zip code.   If any of you of my photographer friends are interested just go to the link and print out the application.  I think it is an amazing organization and what a great gift!

Serendipity and a Crapload of Photos

This month's Serendipity kit is Fancy Pants "All Fall"
It is so stinking pretty!! Here is what I did with it.

With the Mini book I scanned in a bunch of my favorite things Lil has made so far this school year and printed them off 3x3" to fit on the pages. It is so sweet I can hardly contain myself.  (click on it to see it bigger)

I spent forever this morning uploading a ton of pictures I've been meaning to upload for some time now. I'm sure I missed some so I will have to go back, but there is only so long you can sit at the computer before your brain starts to leak out your ears!!

You can find this super cute girl in the senior section:

And you can find this adorable baby in the baby section along with another new babe

Also check out the girlies, invites and family sections for some new goodies to look at

Conversations with a 3 year old

This evening after I put Chloe in bed she starts crying.  I go in to see what the matter is and she says she was going to have a bad dream.  I asked her if she wanted to talk to Jesus about it and she said yes.  As I was trying to explain to her that Jesus lives in our hearts (which she never quite understands) she says to me

"If we take bad trips then we might trip over a turtle or sometimes a bunny"

and I say "Oh really"

Then she says "And sometimes the road might crack and our house will float away down the street past Grandmas"

I say "That is the silliest thing I've ever heard! Do you know what is under the road?"

She says "Soil!"

I say, "Wow, Yes! Soil! And you don't float on soil, it is hard and sturdy! So if the road breaks, the will just patch it up and no one floats away."

She says, "If you mix sugar with soil, you get pancakes and macaroni & cheese."

YES!!!!

If you were not moved by this speech, then there must be something wrong with you!!

Be Still My Heart

We have discovered that the girls are not cut out for "real" trick or treating.
I decided since this year was so dang warm we weren't going to waste it by going to an inside trick or treating like we normally do b/c how often do you actually have a warm halloween?  Brian had to work late, so first we went to visit family and then headed to the trunk or treat at the church and then the pumpkin patch.  We then went to pick up Brian and went to Mamaw & Papaws neighborhood b/c it's full of old people with really good candy (hehe)  Nearly every porch light was on, so it was the perfect spot.
We made it down one side of the first block when Lilian decides her feet are breaking and Chloe thinks she is going to poop in her pants. So we walked the rest of the way back with both of them exclaiming in pain!

Here is Lil & Chloe with the Scarecrows Mamaw & Papaw named after them :)

Showing off their super fun trick or treat  baskets.

Have you ever seen a cuter Bumblebee or Butterfly??

Didn't think so.
