Pumpkin Carving Fun!

We carved pumpkins this evening. These were the only pics I took with the digital, and only b/c I can't figure out how to disable the flash on my good camera... Anywho, it was a lot of fun! Lily picked out a spider for herself and the silly face for Chloe. Chloe tried to eat the pumpkin top and poked a bunch of holes in it with the plastic "drill" while we were carving for her. Lily refused to put her hand inside the pumpkin b/c she thought it looked too gross. I saved the seeds and after letting them dry over night I'm going to roast them tomorrow. YUM!!! Roasted pumpkin seeds definetely mark the beginning of a wonderful season.

Contest

These are the pics I entered in the pumpkin patch contest. I took them in and the guy said, can I just make sure you have everything written on the back? Then he took them out, looked at all three of them and put them back in the envelope without ever looking at the back. He could have just asked to see them if that's what he wanted to do... Anywho, he told me that I was the only adult entry so far! I was totally surprised, I guess there are a bunch of entries from students since the art classes have been taking field trips. Hopefully someone else will enter. The deadline is Monday. I entered to beat someone, not myself! haha, not that I'd definetely win, I just want to have some competition. What's a contest if you're the only one that enters?

Mi Familia

We got some family pics done with Amy and Ben (sis & bro-in-law) for Brian's mom for Christmas. I'm going to scrapbook them in a little book I made during a class at CKC. She is really hard to buy for b/c she has a lot of money so she gets anything she wants when she wants it. Someday I'm going to run out of ideas.

Christmas

I only have a few Christmas gifts to get now! I went shopping this weekend since we got the money. It was so nice to be able to buy things and not be worried about it. I bought Lily and Chloe the Little Mermaid too because Mamaw really wanted to buy it for them, she just didn't make it. I even have all but 2 stocking stuffers! woohoo! I still have stuff to finish making though. Quite a bit actually. At least the calendars are almost done... of course shopping all weekend meant my house was neglected. Usually Thursday is damage control day, since the girls are home with daddy all evening untill I get off of work. This Thursday, however, I had to work on garage sale stuff, then again on Friday and Saturday was scrapbooking club followed by Birthday outing fun! Dang! Yesterday we shopped all day. My house is WRECKED!! So maybe I should get off the computer and go work on it...

Marek

I found this super cute boy on the street and I made him come into my house so I could take his picture. He was trying to act like a super hero so most of the pics were of his feet as he fell to the ground, but I liked these two.

I have had a not so good day. Brian's mom is pissed at me for who knows what this time and all of Mamaw's things were being sold at the garage sale. I found myself in the bathroom twice b/c I couldn't hold back tears. This evening his mom told us we needed to come down when Amy and Ben got into town. She gave us both a card and it was from Mamaw and there was a thousand dollars in it. I just started bawling when Brian opened it. I suspected that might be what she was going to give us because she had told me before she died that she wanted to give both of us the money. I didn't think she had told anyone else so I didn't think we were going to get it. I sure wasn't going to say anything and give Debbie another reason to hate me. Even though I thought that was what it was I still wasn't prepared.

Memoirs

So this is one of my favorite cover arts of all time. I noticed it one day when they suddenly changed the cover of the book when the movie was going to come out as they often do. I've wanted to see the movie ever since. I'm really bad about that, judging something by it's cover art. If it is bad, I just can't read it...at all. Anywho, I stayed up until after midnight watching the movie. It was amazing. I wish I had read the book first. It was so beautiful, it definetely lived up to its cover art. Go see it.
